Courtney Aseltine began her career in education as an ESL teacher and later obtained a Master’s in TESOL. After nine years in public education, she left to pursue special education advocacy after experiencing the challenges of the system while advocating for her own child with disabilities.
Courtney is the owner of Special Education Advocacy of the Carolinas and works advocating for the educational rights of students with disabilities alongside their families, not just in the Carolinas, but across the country.
She provides incredible tips, strategies, and insights as @theiepmom on social media. Her knowledge about advocacy and the IEP process has helped countless parents and professionals.
